An Open Letter to TLC
Dear Director of Viewer Relations,
This is Chelsea Bailey again. I’ve called your department a couple of times, but your receptionists continues to send me to a voicemail. To no avail, I haven’t received a call back since and I can’t understand why. I don’t mean to be a bother but I would really like to recommend a program, much like a few other shows you’ve produced in the previous years. Miami Ink and LA Ink are all okay shows, but I feel that there are other tattoo shops that will capture an audience that is just as large, if not larger than the other two.
The shop that I speak of is called City of Ink. It is located in Atlanta, Georgia and I’m sure that it sounds familiar, as it is one of the BEST
tattoo shops in the WORLD! The owners, Miya Bailey& Tuki Carter, have travelled all over the world sharing their skin paintings (tattoos) and art with those that respect and support them as artists. Not only is City of Ink a tattoo shop, but it is an art gallery for the talented “local” artist and a hang out spot for a number of different individuals. It’s not out of the ordinary to drop by the shop, catch some new tunes, surf the web, and possibly buy a pair of handmade earrings. The City of Ink Movement has no color or socioeconomic barriers, just real people who love and appreciate GREAT art work.
In addition to displaying their own art, City of Ink frequently sponsors art shows that allow local talent to showcase their art and gain support from those within the City of Ink Movement.
As a quick re-cap, if you allow City of Ink the chance to have their own show, it is imperative that Miya and Tuki are given a voice when it comes to creative control. The are the shop owners, so the shop is in essence their ”child”. Their clients and following are dedicated and want nothing but the best for the shop, as it continues to grow. The City of Ink Movement is merely centered in Atlanta, which is the home of their first (of many) shops in the world. Traveling all over the world tattooing, there are people from each end of the world and in between that have City of Ink tattoos and that will continue to support them in their efforts.
I do hope that you consider this request. I will stop calling your office, but please check out a trailer from the show that will be on a television network near you soon. With or without TLC the City of Ink Movement will continue to grow, and just as LA and Miami Ink has become a hit series with multiple seasons, all I ask is that you allow one season as a tester for the City of Ink show if you don’t believe me.
Feel free to contact the shop [ @cityofink | 404.525.4465 ], as I am not an employee, but merely a supporter of the entire COI movement. Enjoy the trailer below and we hope to hear from you soon!
